As an addition to our internationally growing project management department, the Project Manager will be a key player at TransPerfect and (TDC). As part of a multi-site team, you will be based in our Vancouver office and reporting to the Department Manager, based in our Montreal office. Your mandate will be to oversee all projects falling under your purview and throughout their entire life-cycle, as to ensure on-time, on-budget, and quality delivery. Under the guidance of your manager, and in collaboration with managers from other departments and offices in Canada and abroad, you’ll be responsible for the oversight of projects pertaining to a variety of enterprise clients. We’re looking for a dynamic person whose enthusiasm to take on new challenges will help to impact the next phase of our business growth and operational excellence. Description:Manage the day-to-day placement and flow of work via several clients and internal online platforms and portals.Liaise with sales and production staff to clarify assignment needs and goals; manage pricing and contractual issues by developing a thorough understanding of company procedures.Juggle multiple projects and priorities at different stages of the life-cycle in a fast-paced environment.Provide assistance to other Project Managers servicing other client portfolios.Provide pertinent information transfer regarding any project status and issues to the internal sales team in a manner that can be well-understood by and on-passed to stakeholders who are of a different mindset than you. Under the guidance of your manager, work closely with the sales team to forecast the ebb and flow of the work, as to ensure that resources are consistently available.Build relationships with your key stakeholders and their internal and external representatives.Take part in client-facing calls to gain a better understanding of client preferences, manage expectations, and provide status updates as needed.Lead team meetings to debrief on current issues and roadblocks, with the goal of finding solutions and suggesting improvement initiatives.Partner with various managers and the Quality Management team on quality initiatives and reconciliations.Establish trustworthy relationships and negotiate pricing agreements with local and international vendors.Perform quality checks at various stages of the process to ensure quality and accuracy.Make recommendations to your manager on ways to improve processes as part of TransPerfect’s commitment to continual process improvement.2 years of project management experience.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize activities on a daily basis to accomplish project goals. Ability to support multiple projects and manage shifting priorities, while keeping accurate track of each status and deadline.Acute attention to scope and details (ex. spelling, grammar).Ability to generate and maintain budgets and schedules. Strong computer skills and comfortable with changing technology.Willing to learn new things, open to new challenges and thrive on success. Positive attitude in the face of change, client-centered mind-set and pro-active approach to problem avoidance and resolution.Ability to maintain professionalism and focus under pressure and tight deadlines.Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.Although working standard hours in pacific standard time (PST), able to operate remotely from your manager, team mates, and main clients/accounts who will also be located in different time zones.Required Experience and Qualifications:Based in Vancouver and available to work daily from our office.Minimum of a Bachelor”s degree in a related area of expertise.Superior written and oral communication skills; fluency in French is considered an asset.Experience in a fast-paced industry where the work is more of a transactional nature: the translation, hotel, catering/food, and airline industries are good examples.Experience with document sharing platforms.Prior knowledge of / experience with standard translation management tools is considered an asset (Idiom, Trados, Wordfast, SDLX, Catalyst…).Knowledge of Acrobat, HTML and XML is considered an asset.For more than 25 years, TransPerfect has provided comprehensive language and technology solutions to help our clients communicate and conduct business more effectively in a global marketplace.
