On November 8th, , the Parks Canada Agency announced the details of its vaccination requirement for all employees.
As per the Policy on COVID-19 Vaccination for Parks Canada Agency, employees must attest to their vaccination status. The requirement for employees to be fully vaccinated applies whether they are teleworking, working remotely or working on-site. This is a condition of employment and it applies to indeterminate, determinate (term), casual, as and when required, and students.
Duties
Delivers interpretive presentations, programs and activities to provide visitors of the park, historic site or marine conservation area with opportunities to discover, appreciate, learn about and enjoy the place and its natural and/or cultural resources and understand their significance to Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)
Education:
A secondary school diploma or PSC approved alternatives or acceptable combination of education, training, experience or traditional knowledge relevant to position.
Note: Acceptable combination of education and training:
Two years of secondary school or PSC approved alternatives; AND
Successful completion of a minimum of one course relevant to the duties of the position courses taken through continuing education facilities, colleges, universities, professional or governmental organizations or employers including training provided by Aboriginal elders or group that may include but are not limited to courses in heritage interpretation, communications, public speaking, performing arts).
Experience:
Experience in delivering programs or information or demonstrations to groups, in person, for the purposes of education, engagement or entertainment.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of communication and Heritage Interpretation techniques.

Additional Experience:
Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience: Gardening; animal-care such as working with barnyard animals; playing musical instruments and singing; blacksmithing.
Experience in theatre and/or performing arts.
Additional Knowledge:
Knowledge of any of the following: Gardening, farm animal-care, music, theatrical performance, blacksmithing.
Operational Requirements:
Work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays.
Wear a reproduction 18th century costume or Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy.
Work in varied terrains and inclement or hot weather conditions.
Frequently stand for long periods. Frequently walk distances up to 2 kilometres (1 mile).
Frequently climb stairs. Frequently bend and crouch.
Occasionally lift up to 10 kg (20 lbs); up to 22 kg (50 lbs) if working in Gardens.
Be exposed to dust, smoke from wood and coal fires, and other airborne irritants.
May handle and fire historic weapons.
