Our client specializes in the production of high-quality metal products through the gravity die casting process for a variety manufacturing segments. With over three decades of experience, they offer comprehensive solutions from initial design to finished product, including CNC machining. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mould Maker/Machinist to join our dynamic team.
The Mould Maker/Machinist is responsible for the creation, repair and alteration of production tooling. The Mould Maker/Machinist ensures moulds, core boxes and associated components are dimensionally correct, clean, free of any defects and operate appropriately. These tasks are complete with the comprehensive use of both manual and CNC Machining. Moulds may also involve extensive bench work with the use of various hand tools and abrasives.
A Mould Maker/Machinist will have oversight of production scheduling and reporting within their department. This role is required to operate in a safe, consistent, and timely manner. Accountability of project deadlines is a must.
Responsibilities:
– Creates, repairs, and alters proprietary tooling based on specifications from the design team, drawings, and blueprints.
– Constructs, adapts, and modifies machine shop tooling, gauges, fixtures, jigs, or dies for use within all molding operations.
– Completes engineering changes and revisions to molds.
– Sets up equipment based on mould requirements, materials, and tolerance.
– Assists in production runs to ensure molds are operating correctly, efficiently and castings conform to quality specifications.
– Interprets engineering drawings and develops traveler routing steps to complete a job.
Requirements:
– College Diploma or Certified Apprenticeship program in General Machining, Tool & Die or Mould Maker preferred or Mechanical Engineering/Technician Diploma.
– Working knowledge of Mastercam, Key Creator, and various other CAD/CAM Software to manipulate and create geometry, as well as toolpathing. Working knowledge of G-Code is a must.
– Must have a strong background in CNC and manual machining.
– Positive attitude and teamwork mentality.
– Strong computer skills.
– Ability to interpret drawings and use a variety of measuring tools.
– Demonstrates initiative and reliability.
– Proficient in machine and tool usage.
