This is an opportunity to join the senior management team of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). The WRDSB is a diverse district school board consisting of 122 schools – as well as alternative and continuing education sites – that work to build the confidence and encourage the success of approximately 65,000 students as they face the future. It is seeking an exceptional leader for the position of Executive Manager, IT & Digital Transformation (CIO) – someone who embraces accountability, human rights and equity in a highly visible role.
The role of CIO is a high-profile position, operating in a complex public service environment requiring transparency and accountability, and demanding a unique combination of IT and digital skills and leadership experience. As the leader of the Information and Technology Services division, a key focus will be on building a strong collaborative team and work environment. You can foster work environments where people are motivated to achieve goals and objectives and you know how to effectively manage diverse stakeholder relationships. You bring relevant work experience, knowledge of the latest IT governance and cyber security protection and recovery protocols, and proven project management skills, able to effectively manage resources and to successfully complete tasks within budget and timelines. A PMP designation and/or certification in cybersecurity would be considered an asset.
