General Information
The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications for casual Skate Patrol opportunities at Cowichan Lake Sports Arena within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager, Cowichan Lake Recreation and supervised by the Recreation Programmer II and Program Assistant I, Skate Patrol assist with developing, planning, and implementing a wide variety of activities including public skates, birthday parties and special events; ensures the ice surface is safe; supervises skaters on the ice ensuring a fun and safe environment; enforces rules and regulations; hands out and receives rental skates, interacts with and responds to public inquiries and other related duties.

Hours of Work
As this is a casual opportunity, there are no guaranteed hours of work. Hours of work are scheduled based on operational needs and may include a variety of shifts including days, evenings weekends, statutory holidays, and school professional development days.
Salary
This non-union casual opportunity has a starting wage range of $17.99 - $19.15 - $20.02 per hour, plus an additional 17.2% pay in lieu of vacation, benefits and statutory holidays, as per the Non-Union Wage Scale (2024 rates).
