The Timing and Communication Group (TCG) at Microchip is actively seeking a strong senior analog design engineer. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities spanning from chip architecture to pre-production, with the need to lead other team members. The products are usually mixed signal SOC designs. The Analog team develops the critical IP blocks used in the TCG timing products. These circuits include multi-GHz PLL circuits, high speed digital circuits, MEMS drivers and high speed performance IO pads. Description As a senior analog design engineer and as port of the Analog IP team the individual will Provide technical mentorship and guidance to a cross-site Analog Design teams. Work with System Architects and Marketing to propose and architect new products. Provide technical guidance throughout the product development flow providing mentoring from the feasibility phase through to pre-production. Work with R&D and Marketing to help extend the analog IP roadmap. Provide leadership to improve analog design methodologies. Job Requirements Requirements Masters Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline 15 or more years experience in analog IC design Must have a passion for his/her work and be an enthusiastic leader with excellent teamwork skills Expertise in the design of high speed, low jitter PLLs and high speed digital circuits is a requirement. Expertise in high speed serdes and clock and data recovery is highly desirable Expertise in the system design of mixed signal circuits is highly desirable. Should be familiar with the issues with low noise circuits in mixed signal designs Expertise in mixed signal design in geometries in CMOS 0.13um, 40nm, 28nm and smaller CMOS geometries is highly desired Knowledge of SiGe design as well as familiarity with HEMT devices is also desirable Excellent understanding of the principles of root cause analysis, design for manufacturability, and a fundamental understanding of statistics is a requirement Familiarity with production testing of mixed signal devices highly desired Experience working with multi-site team desirable
