Position : Service Technician
The Automation Service Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all robotic and automation equipment.
• Assemble and install mechanical parts and fixtures
• Fitting, adjusting and aligning to close tolerances and inspection standards
• Building electrical control panels, and cables, soldering various boards and cables
• Support other team members (Team lead, software, electronic, electrical and mechanical team)
• Operate Mill and Lathe to machine parts for assembly
• Incoming parts quality check
• Developing test plans, data collection and prototyping
• Communicate with engineering staff regarding build issues and timelines
• Must have own basic tool set
• Must be able to handle physical requirements of job (continuous standing, occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds)
• Global travel
• At least 2-5 years of experience in assembly of automated equipment, AND/OR a post-secondary diploma in mechanical, industrial automation, or electro-mechanical is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and specifications
• Familiarity with standard electrical/mechanical/electronic assembly practices
• Experience with various industrial controls software is a plus (PLC’s, C+, etc.)
• Exceptional communication (written & verbal in English language) and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to travel outside of Canada, especially the United States
