PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The senior liaison technician has as main mandate to contain the engineering problems of the product in order to protect the production line and ensure the resolution of problems related to the design of the vehicle and its components between the operations of the plant and the engineering departments of the divisions in order to meet the plant’s objectives. He is also a technical support for all the operations of the plant and ensures a harmonious implementation of the new products in a Lean environment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate and support analysis activities to determine the cause of problems, make engineering changes, initiate corrective action requests and develop contingency plans.
• Participate in auxiliary activities of the department such as: researching information related to design (drawings, parts lists, specifications, etc.), researching alternative parts, and creating reports.
• Support activities related to production, to all engineering aspects of the product such as: responding to calls for help, carrying out prevention, disseminating information, popularizing concepts, monitoring engineering changes, etc.
• Liaise for product engineering with others production centers, departments, the head office, factories and Divisions.
• Undertake and participate in special projects according to the needs identified by the coordinator or the department director and maintain a record of their status and progress ;
• Perform all other related tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma of college studies (DEC) in engineering or in a similar field of study;
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment;
• Understand the usefulness of lists of materials (BOM), definition changes ( CDCO) and technical specifications;
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings;
• Technical knowledge of commercial and industrial vehicles;
• Functional knowledge of MS Office suite related to the post (Excel: intermediate level);
• Knowledge of CMS-80 software (an asset);
• Knowledge of French language related to the post;
• Functional knowledge of English related to the post (advanced level).
