What is the opportunity?Reporting to the Director, the Cloud Security Solutions Engineer / Architect will be responsible for supporting public cloud adoption by providing security focused opinions, recommendations and know-how, while being mindful of business operations to Safeguard RBC data, brand and values. The ideal candidate will have industry relevant qualifications and certifications in cyber security, including strong relationship management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and inspire staff, including promote a culture of high performance that celebrates inclusivity and innovation.   What will you do? Develop and update Cloud Control Objectives to ensure RBC has a comprehensive security control framework to enable secured cloud adoption.Leads, manages and executes strategy, planning, acquisition of Cyber Security Capabilities in the Cloud domain.Lead the development of end-to-end technical cloud security design and architecture to ensure safe application on-boarding to meet sponsor / stakeholder needs, without impacting planned time to market timelines.Conduct public cloud service security reviews to ensure alignment with industry best practices and define security controls required for the service to operate in a safe and controlled environmentPerform threat modelling and security architecture assessments of cloud design and patternsServe as the trusted security advisor to key business and technology partnersWork with the stakeholders to design, build and validate Cloud Security Services and controlsReview engineering pull requests to identify security deficiencies, control gaps and security reviews deviationsThis position is accountable for the deployment and sustainability of security solutions to combat insider and external threats and Cyber Security.Provide thought leadership in leverage a combination of cloud native security controls and third-party commercial solution to secure RBC’s cloud workload.The role works primarily on large programs including those involving multiple projects, a large number of applications and/or third parties with complex integration requirements.What do you need to succeed? Must Have:Demonstrated experience in Cyber Security and working knowledge of Azure, AWS or GCP Public Cloud Providers.Experience with securing container technologies (container network interfaces (CNI), Service Mesh, container security platforms).Demonstrated experience making architectural decisions based on simplicity, industry frameworks, scalability and reusability.Strong understanding and/or hands on experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN), authentication and authorization protocols and capabilities, network segmentation and zero trust models. Experience in hardening and safeguarding cloud services and prevent config drift with native or third-party tools (CSPM, IaC, linter).Strong knowledge and experience of cloud security frameworks and governance practices.Knowledge of government and regulatory requirements as it relates to data information management, including emerging trends and issues related to the subject matter.Ability to partner effectively with key stakeholders on complex projects with excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.Undergraduate degree in technical field or equivalent experience.Nice to Have:Recognizable security related industry certifications (CISSP, CCSP)Azure, AWS and GCP Public cloud certificationsKubernetes certifications (CKA, CKS)Strong understanding and/or hands on experience with security technologies: NGFW, IPS, VPN, endpoint security, IAM, SIEM, WAF, API Security, Decryption of Web Traffic, Vulnerability Assessment, DDoS mitigation, DLP, key management, PKI, CASB.What’s in it for you? We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
