Build on your education & career experience as you:
•Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessments, interventions and follow-ups as related to respiratory therapy such as assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and support, initiating/maintaining mechanical ventilator support of adults, children and infants, providing airway management, patient evaluation and daily care of patients. •Provides family, patient and staff education which may include participating in established education programs such as that offered through the Asthma Clinic. •Requisitions supplies and minor equipment for departmental operations within approved budget; maintains area supply inventory. •Participates in quality improvement activities such as development, implementation and evaluation of written procedures and standards, development of assessment forms and patient materials and the development of departmental goals and objectives. •Maintains documentation by ensuring reports, record and workload statistics are complete and accurate according to established departmental standards.
To join our team, you have:
•Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program •Two (2) years’ recent related clinical experience in an acute care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. •Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care CBRC credentialing exam •Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT) •Current CPR Certificate, Professional Level C •Current Neonatal Resuscitation program certification
