The successful candidate would be a self-motivated individual with a positive can-do attitude and ability to work collaboratively and effective as a member of a team. 

Supported by the Director, News & Public Affairs, typical duties of the successful candidate would include, but wouldn’t be limited to:

  • Traffic Reporting and Anchoring Live Newscast
  • Interviewing, writing, and producing segments and stories 
  • Live on the scene reporting
  • Generating and producing story and segment ideas 
  • Editorial decision-making
  • Other related duties as assigned, which may include writing for the web and beat reporting
  • Qualifications: 

  • Post Secondary Degree in Television Broadcast or Broadcast Journalism, with a combination of relevant experience in a major television market
  • Previous proven experience; including live reporting, and proven ability and experience anchoring in a major television market is essential 
  • Knowledge of television production procedures, terminology and equipment capabilities
  • Excellent research, writing and presentation skills. Excellent organizational, time management, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated Ability to react quickly and productively in a changing environment requiring immediate decision-making
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment with emphasis on internal assistance, while motivating staff and upholding professional journalism standards

    Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
