– Performing preadmission screening of surgical patients to ensure patients can proceed for scheduled surgery

– Interviewing patients, reviewing patient histories, identifying potential problems, and ensuring required diagnostic tests are booked and completed

– Assessing patients referred to designated clinical outpatient clinic, and collects information from a range of sources

– Planning, coordinating and evaluating nursing intervention(s) and care

– Collaborating with members of the interprofessional care team

– Graduation from an approved Nursing Program recognized by the Canadian Nurses’ Association

– Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

– Two (2) years’ recent, related experience in the education, monitoring and management of participants in cardiac prevention and rehabilitation, including exercise training and experience with ECG Telemetry monitoring

– ECG rhythm interpretation course

– Completion of or eligible to obtain American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certification

– Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification

– Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

– Valid BC Driver’s License
