As a Mid-Level Systems Administrator with Serco, you will use your expertise to help Serco North America and our public sector customers solve challenging problems through innovative technology solutions. You will work on exciting projects, future-proof your skills, and grow into your dream job alongside some of the most talented, knowledgeable, and dedicated technologists in the industry.In this role, you will:Represent the technical requirements of the Serco Canada Marine Business UnitWork effectively on several phases of systems to include all flavors of Linux, Windows and VMWare operating systems.Interface with the IT Service Delivery manager and business unit representatives to address the business unit IT priorities and needsAssist with solution design of new or existing server environment including hardware, peripherals, settings, services, storage, directoriesProvide technical input and support of systems to support the deployment and O&M of business unit specific applicationsProvide subject matter expertise with technologies inclusive of storage infrastructure (EMC), compute platforms consisting of RedHat, Windows Server, ESXI, and Microsoft Active DirectoryIn addition to providing run and maintain activities, be an active participant in project related activities for material changes or new corporate-wide and business unit specific technology enhancementsImplement defined security measures to protect data, software, and hardware. Evaluate, plan for, and implement DoD/DISA STIGs to the technology infrastructure.Automate repetitive systems administration tasks to provide economies of scale.Create from scratch or update existing documentationAddress, support and coordinate with peer’s incident troubleshootingProvide technical advice and recommendations to IT and business unit leadership for technical problems or improving the technology infrastructure.Stay current with developments in the systems engineering discipline. Stay current with relevant technological advancements.Maintain a highly diverse and fast-paced workload that may include a variety of tasks, efforts, or projects.To be successful in this role, you will have:Requires a Bachelor`s Degree and 4-6 years of related experience.Proven experience working with NAS and SAN devices such as Synology storage arrays, EMC VNX and Unity storage arrays, and EMC Elastic Cloud Storage.Must be knowledgeable in cross disciplinary technologies to include server, virtualization, network and storage.Proven experience working with the TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Networking VPN”s, switching, and routingUnderstanding of backup software to include but not limited to Veeam and Druva Project Leadership experience to provide guidance in the following areas design, documentation and implementation of infrastructure solutions to solve business problemsExpert skill administering Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment including domain services, sites and services, users and computers, and group policy administration.Expert skill administering Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and above.Strong troubleshooting experience with VMware & Hyper-V infrastructureAdvanced engineering experience with tiered storage, DR, and replication technologiesExpert knowledge around Linux systems and integrated converged stack infrastructure & hyper convergence stacksExpert knowledge of the VMWare stack and how it integrates into hyper-converged stacksKnowledge of Network connectivityKnowledge of both Commercial Cloud and Government Cloud connectionsMust be a self-starter, adaptable to shifting priorities and highly motivated.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent customer facing interaction skillsCanadian Citizenship RequiredAdditional desired experience and skills:Scripting experience preferred (Batch, WMI, VBScript, PowerShell)Serco Inc.
