Canada North Fly In Outfitters has an amazing opportunity at our luxury fly in fishing resort in northern Saskatchewan for a full-time seasonal Head Chef to run an exciting food program for the 2020 summer season. Season starts June 2020. You will be given freedom to develop a menu and food service program and live and work in an incredible setting.
All room and board is included.
Position is contract for the entire season
No tip sharing, keep all your own tips over and above a very competitive wage
All applicants must:
Have a passion for food and cooking techniques
Be willing and able to work the necessary hours
Be able to communicate professionally with all areas of the lodge
Desire to learn and explore new techniques
Attention to detail and well organized
Must be physically able to do the the job
Chef will be responsible for all aspects of guest and staff meals, as well as proper cleaning and organization of work area.
Your duties will include daily:
Breakfast – Starting as early as 5 am, you will be responsible for prepping and cooking breakfast (Breakfast is served at 7:00 am in the dining room at the main lodge)
– plated breakfast orders filled from a simple short menu
– sandwiches if required for shore box lunch
– from scratch baking daily
Lunch – lunch for staff at the lodge
Dinner – each evening – Guests – Appetizer/ Bread /Soup or Salad / Main entrée with 2 sides and two desserts
The meals you prepare will be served to guests by servers. You will be cooking for a minimum of 12 people to a max of 40 people.
Red Seal or previous experience in culinary arts, cooking or related fields
Previous experience cooking in camps or remote resorts would be a definite asset
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen & staff dining room
All dish washing
Position requires you to be at the lodge for the whole season start to finish
Ideal for a couple or a team
Must have capacity and drive to meet such standards and work in a fun environment.
