Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) is a comprehensive community institution, established in 1966 in Grande Prairie. Our stewardship region includes campuses in Fairview and Grande Prairie. GPRC offers a wide variety of credit and non-credit career certificates and diplomas, pre-employment and apprenticeship trades, university transfer studies, and several opportunities for on-campus degree completion through collaborations with four-year universities. The Department

The School of Health, Wellness and Career Studies offers certificates, diplomas, transfer programs, and some degree completion routes for students. Credit programs offered are in the areas of Physical Education and Kinesiology, Early Learning and Child Care, Educational Assistant, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Unit Clerk, Perioperative Nursing, Business Administration and Office Administration. The highly qualified faculty and staff, and small class sizes attracts students from a wide service area, as does the varied program mix.

The Role

The Business and Office Administration Department is seeking a Part-Time Sessional Instructor to teach BA2240 EC – Human Resource Management. This appointment will run from May 3, 2021 – June 30, 2021.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Masters Degree in a related field and a minimum of one year teaching experience. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles;
  • Knowledge of GPRC courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g., videoconferencing, Moodle) are desired;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Student Focused;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • A high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
