Job Description

The Role

  • Performing the secretarial duties in a share for two Litigation lawyers.
  • Preparing correspondence and legal documents for review, including court documents.
  • Document management.
  • Meeting timelines/deadlines, scheduling meetings, maintaining professional’s calendar, and maintaining bring forward/tickler systems.
  • Preparing expense reports, assisting with the preparation of accounts, making travel arrangements, and other administrative matters.
  • Skills and Experience Required

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in Litigation law.
  • College Diploma from a Legal Administrative Assistant or Law Clerk program would be an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi task.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Flexible approach to peak work periods.
  • Excellent oral and written language skills (French/English) and fast and accurate typing speed.
  • Positive attitude, strong client-service skills, and the ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Document Management.
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
