Role Responsibilities
Are you an expert in wildfire prevention and operations? Elevate your career by joining us as a dedicated Wildfire Technologist. This unique forest landscape encompasses a diverse range of ecological zones, fire regimes, and fire risks, presenting distinct and demanding characteristics that define the High Level Forest Areas.
Under the guidance of the Wildfire Prevention Officer, you will take a pivotal role in executing all aspects of the wildfire prevention program. Your responsibilities will entail execution of critical elements within the education, engineering, and enforcement programs, each customized to the intricacies of the local landscape. This position necessitates ongoing program surveillance, decisive decision-making, comprehensive training, and expert mentoring to ensure consistent and effective outcomes, thereby enhancing safety and program efficiency within the context the Forest Area’s unique circumstances.
Additionally, you will undertake the roles of Duty Officer and Deputy Duty Officer on a rotational basis at the designated Fire Centre, actively participating in a range of wildfire suppression and pre-suppression activities tailored specifically to the landscape of the Forest Area. Active involvement in Incident Command Teams, task forces, working groups, and committees will be integral to your role. Furthermore, you will extend your duties to encompass supporting forest management and enhancing forest health.
