Position Title: Vice President, Engineering & Technical Services Reporting to: Executive Vice President, Operations & Supply Chain SUMMARYProvide vision and leadership to the technical teams for developing and enhancing production facilities and processes, as well as working with the organization in identifying and incorporating potential acquisitions.ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Oversee plant expansions and new (greenfield) builds from an engineering standpoint.2. Plan, direct, and operate capital projects, including capital budgets (ensuring procedures are in place to monitor performance against budgets).3. Implement equipment strategies including sourcing and standardization thereof.4. Oversee technical aspect of plant and maintenance reliability ensuring a minimization of downtime and by extension an optimization of plant performance.5. Develop and monitor project feasibility studies.6. Provide leadership with respect to environmental/safety procedures as required by internal/external parties.7. Foster a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and capability.8. Other duties as assigned from time to time.REQUIREMENTSEngineering degree with eligibility for regional accreditation. Minimum 10 years in a leadership role within the Engineering functionFood manufacturing experience is a mustFamiliarity with different types of regulatory environments (ex: environment, sanitation, etc.)Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and time management skills.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a team of professionals and manage their performance to achieve desired results.DECISION MAKINGDetermine which methods need to be altered and/or which capabilities need to be upgraded in order to achieve organizational goals viewed through the prism of engineering.RESPONSIBILITYOversee multiple facilities and plants, serving as the leader for engineering operations, maintenance, and best practices. The VP, Engineering will be held accountable for leading efforts to drive continuous improvement in the operations of plants specifically in regards to those aspects owing performance to effective engineering strategies (equipment sourcing, maintenance, performance, etc.). Implement an effective preventive maintenance strategy and transition it to a predictive maintenance model. Additionally, they will be charged with managing the team that is charged with implementing the strategies to be enacted, including playing a role in building said team.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed both, in the processing plants and in an office environment. There is a low level of risk for accidents involved, however potential safety hazards include exposure to the plant environment. Travel is required on a regular basis; the larger the territory, the greater the travel requirement.
