A division of ClaimsPro - BBCG Claim Services, is seeking a full-time Surety Adjuster to join our growing team in Mississauga or GTA area:
BBCG Claim Services is a division within ClaimsPro’s Specialty Risk Division (SRD) that specializes in the investigation and management of surety, crime, cyber and other niche financial lines claims. We are Canada’s largest team of independent Loss Adjusters specifically dedicated to the handling of surety losses on behalf of surety and insurer clients. Our team is comprised of highly experienced individuals who possess professional backgrounds in finance, accounting and insurance. The BBCG team has a national presence from coast-to-coast with regional offices in British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. BBCG handles a wide range of contract and commercial surety losses across Canada and internationally, coordinating our team of experts to oversee all aspects of claims through efficient and timely resolution.

Our team of technically skilled Adjusters offers over 150 years of combined experience, which ensures our clients receive the required support and advice that is essential when handling losses in specialty and niche surety and insurance markets.
From the boardroom, the job site, and beyond to the courtroom, clients rely on BBCG’s technical expertise and years of practical experience to anticipate developments, identify opportunities, and offer innovative solutions to accurately measure exposures and mitigate risk.
The successful BBCG candidate will have 5+ years’ experience with a proven track record of:
Superior claim investigative skills
Superior ability to interpret surety bond wordings, complex coverage conditions and obligations
Superior report writing ability, and proven ability to analyze and present claim data to sureties/insurers in an organized and professional manner
Current working knowledge of relevant jurisprudence applicable to the surety industry
Ability to oversee and direct consultants, lawyers, contractors and engineers, and other experts to ensure timely and effective claim resolution
University degree or a combination of education and relevant experience;
Adjuster’s license designation or working towards completion;
Additional key assets and skills such as:
CIP/FCIP, and other professional designations such as ACSB an asset;
Background in law or engineering would be an asset;
A professional demeanor and ability to communicate clearly to all stakeholders in a formal group setting
Superior problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate practical solutions to successfully resolve complex disputes
Licensed in jurisdictions inside and outside of home province
Experience with mediation/alternate dispute resolution, provision of evidence at discovery/trial, provision of sworn statement on claim related matter
A strong work ethic and desire to deliver a superior work product
The ability to travel locally and abroad to attend site visits, project and other in-person meetings
Willingness to attend and participate in industry seminars and workshops
A desire to engage in professional development and continuing education/training with the aim of continuously improving the level of service provided to clients
Accounting and computation skills; working knowledge of financial statements and accounting records an asset;
Strong computer skills to adapt to various IT environments; advanced knowledge of Excel and Word an asset;
Extremely well-honed organizational skills to prioritize day-to-day activities to allow efficient and effective progress of file management activities;
Ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships with a wide spectrum of people;
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;

Experience in the handling of claims in the above areas is also a key asset.
