Responsibilities:
We have an exciting opportunity for a **Senior Project Manager - Tunnels** who will have the chance to lead and manage the project team through all phases of project planning, execution (design and construction), and closeout of water and transportation projects with tunnels.
Other responsibilities include:
+ Leading and providing project management to a multi-disciplinary team of engineers on water and transportation tunnel projects through feasibility studies, preliminary design, detailed design, approvals, tendering and construction.
+ Developing execution plans for projects, including scope, fee, schedule, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management plans.
+ Maintaining regular and effective communication with clients and project team.
+ Tracking, controlling, and reporting on project performance to Clients and Jacobs Portfolio Manager.
+ Negotiating and managing sub-agreements.
+ Developing tender documents for projects with design manager and other project team members.
+ Developing, mentoring, and empowering the project team, including junior staff and junior engineers.
+ Supporting business development activities in water and transportation tunnel projects.
**Here’s What You’ll Need:**
+ Minimum 15 years of experience as a project manager directly responsible for large-diameter (3.5 m ID or larger) tunnels in water conveyance or transportation projects.
+ Broad knowledge and understanding of microtunnelling in water conveyance projects, including design and construction of trunk sewers and feeder mains.
+ Proven experience managing tunneling projects in a densely populated urban environment with major stakeholder and outreach programs.
+ Significant experience as Project Manager or Construction Manager of construction of large-diameter water and transportation tunneling projects, with experience in change and claims management, dispute resolution, vibration, noise and settlement monitoring and mitigation.
+ Significant experience managing tunnel projects through preliminary design, detailed design, and construction.
+ Broad knowledge and experience in underground construction techniques of tunnels by TBM, cut and cover and conventual mining techniques in soft ground and rock.
+ Significant PM experience in large multi-disciplinary projects and/or portfolio management or multi-project management, including project planning, scheduling, estimating, and budgeting, progress and performance monitoring and reporting.
+ Experience with sales and business development, including writing technical proposals is an asset.
+ Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
+ A Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil, structural, geological, or geotechnical engineering from an accredited university.
+ Licensed P.Eng.
+ Broad knowledge and experience in hydraulic and hydrologic modelling.
+ Completion of formal PM training in an accredited program that aligns with the requirements of Certified Project Management bodies (e.
g., PMI), is an asset.
