In short, because relationships matter.Position SummaryTheKelowna office of BDO Canada LLP is seeking a full-time, Senior Bookkeeping Technician, to join our rapidly growing Outsourcing team. The successful candidate is responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting services to our clients. Candidates must be adaptable to the multiple demands of the position and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Our clients include businesses of various sizes in agriculture, hospitality, franchises, manufacturing, construction, retail, insurance and the non-profit sector. We also service many small businesses and self-employed professionals.This is a new position for the region’s Outsourcing group, where we complete client’s day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions through cloud-based technology. Our clients span across Canada, into the US and UK and this leads to a fast paced, dynamic working environment. The successful candidate could have the opportunity to progress into a Managerial/Supervisory role within this department. Ideally, we are seeking a candidate who has been in a Senior Full Cycle Bookkeeping role (public practice preferred) and wants to take the next step in their career.Key Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesProcesses monthly financial transactions into Microsoft NAV accounting software.Work on complex monthly bookkeeping and accounting assignmentsProvide support to clients on general questions regarding bookkeeping issuesProvide technical and project management support to team members for accounting related engagementsThorough review of accounting and bookkeeping assignments to ensure quality standards are metAssist with mentoring staff to meet all client deadlinesEffectively communicate with clients, partners and staff face to face as well as through email and phone conversationsEducation and Professional Skills/KnowledgeA minimum of 3+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience (prior experience in public accounting is an asset)Experience with foreign exchange translations and consolidationsAbility to transact in multiple accounting software programsExperience with Microsoft NAV considered an assetWorking accounting knowledge of multiple industries is requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsDeveloped oral and written communication skillsStrong ability to prioritize, delegate and manage conflicting prioritiesProficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically ExcelExperience leading a team is considered an assetOur VisionOne Firm engaged to make a difference through valued relationships with our people, clients and communities.#LI-AR1
