About the Opportunity:
The Development Officer or Senior Development Officer, Direct Response will lead the development and execution of an integrated direct response program that drives revenue and donor engagement through direct mail, telemarketing, face-to-face, email, SMS text messaging, and other direct response channels.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Community Giving & Direct Response, responsibilities will include:
Project management for all direct response fundraising campaigns across multiple channels, managing relationships with internal teams and external vendors/suppliers
Develop and refine audience selection and segmentation strategies
Develop and conduct testing strategies to optimize campaign performance
Copywriting for fundraising letters, emails, landing page content, and telemarketing/text messaging scripts
Develop creative briefs and work closely with the Graphic Designer on design elements for digital and print
Deliver campaign reports and insights to help shape future strategies
Optimize our donor acquisition program with a focus on diversifying our donor base and reactivating lapsed donors
Design and implement stewardship and renewal strategies to increase retention of monthly and annual donors
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum three years’ experience in direct response marketing, preferably with a fundraising organization or agency, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Core Knowledge & Skills:
A passion and talent for creating engaging fundraising copy and content that drives donors and prospective supporters to respond to a call to action
Proficient in the use of CRM tools (preferably Raiser’s Edge) and Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong project management experience and organizational skills, with a track record of meeting campaign deadlines and budgets
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with internal and external partners

Salary Range:
Development Officer:$60,000 to $85,000
Senior Development Officer:$65,000 to $87,000

5 weeks’ vacation plus office closure between Christmas Eve and New Years, as well as half days office closures before each statutory holiday
