About the Role:The Senior Maintenance Technician responds to our resident’s service needs and is instrumental in helping Fitzrovia deliver superior customer service to our residents. This includes quality move-ins, residential satisfaction, expedited service, and personal attention to the resident..Key Responsibilities:Responds to resident requests in a timely manner and with a professional and upbeat attitudePrepares all market ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet cleaning/repair, general repairs, and housekeeping to ensure a quality product to our residentsHas knowledge of various maintenance functions including and not limited to plumbing, pool maintenance, air conditioning, heating, general carpentry skills, appliance, electrical, painting, caulking, snow removal, scheduling, and life safety issuesMaintains grounds, pools/hot tubs, common areas, and dog parks to keep them clean, free of trash, debris, and other safety issuesPerforms on-call emergency procedures as required or as scheduled by the Maintenance SupervisorReports any maintenance issues that affect the budget such as life safety, vacant repairs, property damages, and common area needs to the managerIs knowledgeable of provincial, local, and federal housing laws, codes, policies, and systems regarding maintenanceAttends and participates in training programs as required by Fitzrovia and local city and provincial jurisdictionsProvide superior customer service and always represents the company in a professional manner. Consistently maintains a professional, courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers, and the general publicPerforms duties as assigned in a timely and professional mannerMaintains and safeguards all company tools and equipmentQualifications and Experiences:High school diploma or equivalent required2 - 4 years of experience in commercial or residential building operationsBuilding Environmental Systems (BES) Operator Class 1 and 2 an assetExperience in construction, HVAC & plumbing preferredBasic ability and knowledge of basic maintenance tasks as described in the Key Responsibilities listed above.Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job dutiesAbility to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceMust be able to work any shift between 7am - 11pm, Sunday-Saturday to support the company’s business needsWhy Fitzrovia:Fitzrovia is a vertically integrated development and asset manager focused on Class-A and vintage-style apartment buildings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Montreal.
