With over 25 years of experience, we are a recognized leader in environmental and advisory solutions.Job DescriptionJoining our global network of geochemists as our newSenior Geochemistry / Water Quality Lead , you will lead and build out our team, manage a group of experienced and motivated professionals, and drive the growth and development of our geochemistry practice in Canada. Your work will support our mine waste engineering team, as well as our environmental management, permitting, and assessment group on projects across the country.Success in this role will depend on your demonstrated skills and experience in the management of staff in a professional consulting environment, as well as experience in interpreting complex geochemical systems, and providing practical solutions to address mining water quality issues, as well as significant water quality modelling experience.In addition to strong technical skills, you will also have experience working with clients in a variety of sectors to build teams, develop technical scopes of work, proposal preparation, and the successful management and delivery of projects, meeting SLR’s high standards for quality and client satisfaction.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou will also:• Lead multidisciplinary teams commensurate with project needs and integrate geochemical findings and interpretations with those of other scientific, planning and engineering disciplines
• Develop and execute geochemical investigative, monitoring, and remedial work programs
• Manage project teams and ensure successful project delivery with respect to health & safety, scope, schedule, budget, QA/QC, and client satisfaction
• Perform water quality modelling, analysis, and interpretation, and prepare technical reports for submission to clients and regulators
• Provide technical review of geochemical/water quality investigative programs, calculations, interpretations, and reports
• Prepare proposals and contribute to the development and execution of service line, business sector, and client business development plans
• Liaise and build relationships with clients and ensure excellent service delivery

• Experience with managing a team of professionals in a consulting environment
• Expertise in contaminant hydrogeology, supplemented with a broad knowledge of hydrogeology including water resource management, groundwater chemistry, aquifer development, modelling and surface water- ecology-groundwater interactions
• Working knowledge of provincial, local and industry specific regulations, including IFC guidelines, new mine permitting, and international due diligence
• Management of environmental projects and project teams
• Experience and proven success in business development, client management and preparation of proposals
• Professional Geoscientist or Engineer with undergraduate degree in engineering or geochemistry. Master’s degree in preferred
