As a senior risk management advisor in Desjardins Group's property and casualty insurance sector, you're part of a team of experienced professionals responsible for sound risk management by assisting in the supervision, analysis, prevention and monitoring of risks. As expert advisor, you have an integrated vision of all the organization's risks, including operational, financial, insurance, strategic and reputational risks. You draw on your extensive knowledge of operational risks including business practices and internal processes, internal and external fraud, outsourcing and third-party agreements, business continuity and information technology. You take on a leadership and influencer role when interacting with the various stakeholders on assignments and projects that involve highly innovative, interdepartmental strategic and complex input and development. You make recommendations on the development and delivery of files or projects with a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. These require analysis and a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the organization and business line. Coordination is critical. You must interact with a very large number of stakeholders working in a variety of fields of expertise. Interpersonal savvy is essential. More specifically, you will be required to :
Serve as expert advisor and assist various sectors in the identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring of their risks
Work closely with experts from various risk areas, business sectors and support functions to complete analyses, disclosures and positionings for the property and casualty insurance sector
Address all business risks in order to identify the most troubling risks and issue recommendations regarding ways to mitigate those risks
Conduct objective reviews and make recommendations for risk mitigation, improvement and control
Identify and analyze problems Flag any major issues Develop diagnostics and make recommendations to the decision-making bodies concerned
Represent your unit in dealings with various committees and working groups
Influence decisions and orientations of major projects in multidisciplinary groups
Enhance risk management processes, methodologies and frameworks & Help with internal and external risk management disclosure activities.

What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree in in business administration or in a related field
A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of French is required
Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and/or clients.
Experience in risk management, specifically in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
Experience in a large financial institution and/or the property and casualty insurance sector (an asset)
Experience in designing process improvements (an asset)
Experience in the development and implementation of large-scale organizational initiatives (an asset)
In-depth knowledge of operational and process risks, as well as a wide range of organizational risks (financial, insurance, strategic, reputational)
Knowledge of best practices, methodologies and tools for risk management, governance and internal control
