If so, we are currently seeking a qualified CPA to join our client's team as a Senior Accountant at a distributor company based in Surrey, BC.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the person who will occupy the role of Senior Accountant, must be responsible for partnering with FP&A and the Costing Team to ensure accurate inventory and cost of sales reporting as well as,

- Oversee the compilation and review of supplementary schedules, content, and notes for both internal and external financial reports.
- Contribute to and engage in food safety initiatives, including adherence to SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
- Develop, review, and maintain the Finance Policy and Procedures Manual, serving as a technical accounting resource for all levels within the organization.
- Take ownership of and manage the filing processes for HST, property tax, and similar obligations.
- Execute Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking, competitor analysis, and ad hoc reporting, proactively delivering insightful business findings to management.
- Identify and mitigate business and financial risks by implementing and monitoring effective controls.
- Support teams in identifying, validating, analyzing, and implementing process improvements and reengineering initiatives, such as ERP implementation.

Qualifications
The person selected for the position of Senior Accountant, must be able to demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and adeptness in deciphering intricate technical accounting matters to enact pragmatic resolutions as well as have,

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field is mandatory.
- CPA designation is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of advancing experience in finance is required.
- Comfortable engaging with senior management in a professional manner.
- Skilled in financial modeling utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience with IFRS / US GAAP is preferred
- Experience with SAP & ERP implementation considered an asset
