About The RoleCongruence is currently seeking a highly versatile and self-motivated bench Scientist (the level will be established based on the candidate’s background and relevant experience) to join our outstanding Biology team. In this role you will use a combination of cell biology, molecular pharmacology, and biochemical approaches, together with Congruence Therapeutics’ proprietary platform technology RevenirTM, to support the discovery and development of novel small molecule Correctors of misfolded proteins (G protein-coupled receptors, ion channels, transporters, and enzymes) for human genetic diseases. The successful candidate should have significant hands-on experience in contributing to the design, development, optimization, validation and execution of a wide range of assay formats using the best industry practices to support drug discovery programs.The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have1-3 years of drug discovery experience with bioassays in a pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO environmentMSc Degree in cell biology, molecular pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related disciplineCapability to demonstrate initiative and innovative thinking individually and within a dynamic and supportive team environmentRelevant hands-on laboratory experience using in vitro cell culture systems (cell lines and/or primary cells) and plate-based assays (luminescence, fluorescence, UV-absorbance, TRF, FP, AlphaScreen, etc)Previous experience with protein expression/detection methods (including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, Capillary electrophoresis) (an asset)Hands-on laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, qPCR, sequencing, gene editing) (an asset)Previous experience with small molecules testing/screening (an asset)Ability to present data in Biology departmental meetings, as requiredAptitude to maintain compliance in relation to Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) filingAbility to rapidly acquire new skills, as neededAttributes That Will Make You Successful At CongruencePassionate curiosityDrug hunter mentality driven by the desire to deliver new medicines to underserved patientsExcitement for using and creating novel technologies and processesStrong team spirit and interpersonal skills, and interest in working with highly talented individuals in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environmentStrong sense of engagement, ownership, accountability and independenceWe OfferA meritocracy that is committed to delivering new medicines to underserved patientsThe opportunity to work innovatively at the interface of the dry lab and wet labThe prospect of getting in on the ground floor and making your markHighly competitive base compensation Flexible policiesModern labs in a bio-innovation center environmentCongruence is committed to building an outstanding company with a meritocracy of ideas.
