Right now we are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work with our Nephrology, 9 East Unit in the Acute Inpatient Medicine Program.

Reporting Relationship: Manager, 9 E&W Nephrology & Medicine Hiring Salary Range: $30.779 - $31.

253 Position Responsibilities: + RN responsibilities for Nephrology focused patients + Care planning and coordination of care with various team members. + Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.

+ Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required. + Preceptorship of nursing students.

Qualifications: + Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program. + Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

+ Current BCLS certification. + One year recent medical experience with focus on nephrology.

+ Experience with Peritoneal dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis required. + Completion of Nephrology 1 and 2 required or current enrollment required.

+ Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities. + Experience with patient health teaching.

+ Demonstrate adherence to the hospital’s code of conduct. + Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.

+ Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset. + Knowledge of community resources.

+ Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
