Our client, an industry leader in providing patients with high quality treatment and care, is looking to add a Human Resources Generalist to team in Markham, On! The role is Hybrid, with ability to work from home on Monday and Friday. In this exciting position, you will use your expertise to oversee day-to-day HR operations to support both managers and employees in the healthcare sector. You will assist with HR matters such as benefits administration, onboarding initiatives, employee relations, recruitment, payroll support, and more! If you have 3+ years of experience as a Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Assistant, or Human Resources Generalist then is the perfect opportunity for you!
What you get to do every single day
- Act as the point of contact for employees on all HR related inquiries and concerns, providing advice as needed or escalating issues as required
- Assist talent acquisition on recruitment initiatives such as coordinating interviews/meetings, liaising with departmental leads on their hiring needs, and conducting the interviews in partnership with hiring managers
- Create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- Evaluate employee performance, including assisting with annual reviews, appraising pay scales, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- Manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- Review company-wide policies to ensure compliance with rules and regulations such as the OSHA and ESA
- Design templates for HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
- Manage employee relations, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employee
- Collaborate with other members of the HR department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources Management or related.
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Coordinator Position
- Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
- Experienced with full cycle recruitment and onboarding
- Working knowledge on Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Employment Standards Act
- Prior experience assisting with payroll, such as tracking leaves of absences and vacation
- Prior HR experience in a Generalist capacity preferred
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- Willing to work as part of a team or independently and have the drive to take on a variety of tasks and projects
