We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about food to join our West Market team. As a member of the meat & seafood department, your role will include maintaining attractive, abundant fresh displays, prepare and package custom orders and assure that all objectives and goals of the department and store, as communicated by the Market Manager, and leadership team, are met or exceeded. This is a very service-orientated position providing courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and legendary service to customers and team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Portion and wrap meat and seafood products based on customer orders
• Prepare different cuts of meat for the display cases
• Ensure accurate retail pricing and signage.
• Superior knowledge of primal cuts.
• Passion for fresh foods.
• Customer service orientated, and likes to create great experiences.
Qualifications:
• Familiarity with preparing different cuts of meat
• Math skills
• Familiar with digi scale operation considered an asset
• Food Safety Mini Course certification is required (Sunterra will provide training)
• WHMIS Certification is required (Sunterra will provide training)
• Meat department experience OR
• Charcuterie/Meat Cutting Certification
