Protecting businesses’ best interests, MNP is a leading national accounting, tax and business consulting firm in Canada. Our recognized Enterprise Risk team helps identify, evaluate and manage risk exposure to protect a organization’s reputation and assets. Specifically, our Internal Audit Services team works withmanagement to develop internal audit solutions that promote transparent governance and help fortify internal controls, prevent unethical reporting and assist in safeguarding assets. Performance ExpectationsResponsible for the delivery of risk management and performance/VFM, compliance and internal audit services to a wide array of clients, with a preferred focus on public sector clientsDetermine performance, compliance, internal audit scope, programs, criteria and procedures to fully execute auditsLead and execute governance, risk management and audit engagementsDocument detailed process and control narratives and prepare findingsEngage in continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, leading practices, tools, techniques and performance standardsManage project financials (i.e. budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition)Deliver value through the provision of high quality client services including planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordinating engagementsFacilitate collaboration with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, objectives, materiality and deadlinesMonitor project timelines against targets, adjust where necessary; advise clients of project statusMaintain high quality control by reviewing work done from other team members for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team membersLeverage team appropriately to ensure proper documentation is prepared for the client and procedures relating to the file are followed accordinglyCommunicate frequently with clients and MNP team members via verbal, written or presentation formatsContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve MNP processesParticipate in the development of new market opportunities for services and client engagementIdentify ways to establish and maximize relationships with clients Promote collaboration, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellnessAttend internal MNP and external courses and conferences to further develop knowledge, build relationships and deepen MNP’s market presenceCredentialsCompletion of a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and/or Certified Internal Audit (CIA) designationAn Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Public Administration (MPA) would beconsidered an assetFive (5) to eight (8) years of relevant work experience, most of which is in Performance (VFM), Compliance and/or Internal AuditProven communication – written, verbal and presentation – capabilities are requiredStrong computer literacy including effective working skills in Microsoft Office suite of toolsInformation technology (IT) controls knowledge or relevant credentials would be an additional valued asset Some travel may be requiredPlease note that lesser qualified applicants may be considered for positions at a junior levelCore Competencies and CharacteristicsIntegrity– professional whose honesty, integrity, confidentiality and high ethical standards contributes to effective leadership and optimal business relationshipsEnergy– displays enthusiasm, optimism and passion while maintaining a high level of productivity and a balanced lifestyleDiversity– understands the importance of different backgrounds, perspectives and experiences and is respectful of individual differencesCommunication– effectively expresses ideas and conveys information in business writing, conversations and interactions with others that make an impact and persuade their intended audience(s)Client Service Excellence– understands the importance of quality client service, proactively identifies client needs and creates strategies to proficiently serve clientsBusiness Development– looks for and seizes profitable business opportunities while focusing on the ability to gain increased presence in the communityForward Thinking- anticipates the implications of situations, takes appropriate action as needed and prepares for possible contingenciesAgility with Change– initiates, sponsors and implements change by taking a facilitative catalyst rolePeople Management & Leadership– goal-driven leader who effectively manages self, others and teams to achieve goalsCoaching– takes responsibility for one’s own and team members’ performance by setting clear goals and tracking progress against those goals, promptly addresses performance issues, is highly organized and uses professional judgement and decision makingMNP encourages a balanced lifestyle and offers benefits that suit the way our team members work and play!
