Telesat Lightspeed, our revolutionary Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, scheduled to begin service in 2027, will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise users by delivering a combination of high capacity, security, resiliency and affordability with ultra-low latency and fiber-like speeds. Telesat is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, and has offices and facilities around the world.Main ResponsibilitiesProvide resource management for the Lightspeed programMaintain effective working relationships within the LEO Satellite Payload Engineering Group and to liaise with other entities within Telesat to ensure the effective execution of the Lightspeed programProvide guidance and technical expertise in the areas of Payload Engineering to junior and senior engineering staffPrepare and present detailed technical reports/presentations for senior and executive managementInterface directly with the satellite manufacturer in order to resolve issues as they ariseParticipate in strategic planning with regards to Lightspeed program developmentCollaborate with the System Design and System Engineering teams in order to address key system design decisionsEducation and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical or telecommunications engineering specializing in satellite communications. 15+ years of practical experience in satellite communications related to Payload related equipment. Strong technical, presentation, interpersonal, written and communication skills. Independent and self-motivated. Considerable attention to detail.Working Conditions
Generally comfortable office environment. Hybrid minimum 3 days per week in the office. Regular travel to Montreal, USA and overseas locations when required.
