While specialized training on the collections work being handled at the firm will be provided, the ideal candidate will have a collections background, and will be a confident, organized, autonomous self-starter that is prepared to proactively work on files with the lawyers they support.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs all debt collection duties in collaboration with the recovery teams Negotiates settlement agreements on behalf of large organizations Answers phone calls and follows-up on inquiries regarding files assigned by the SupervisorThe successful candidate must possess the following:
A minimum of 1-3 years experience working in a similar role Collection agency experience would be an asset Previous experience in a Litigation practice would be considered an asset, but is not necessary Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) A calm but professional demeanor for dealing with clients regarding their accounts Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately Perseverance to maintain pressure for payment upon difficult accounts Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills Ability to take initiative and work under pressure Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations Ability to work with large institutional clients an asset Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Working knowledge of Quickbooks would be considered an asset, training will be provided If you are looking to join a team of friendly professionals look no further.
