The Opportunity
The Ministry of Environment, Environmental Protection Branch is seeking a multi-talented individual with a strong engineering and/or science background to deliver results-based environmental protection programs throughout the province of Saskatchewan.
As a Lead Environmental Protection Officer in the Environmental Protection Branch, you will be responsible for:
Ideal Candidate
Typically, the competencies required for this position can be achieved through a degree in engineering or science combined with related environmental work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will have demonstrated the ability to adhere to the values of the Saskatchewan Public Service.
The headquarters for this position will be in Saskatoon, Prince Albert, or Regina. Travel to remote locations of the province and working flexible hours are required for this position. The successful candidate is expected to be or work towards becoming competent as an Environmental Emergencies Officer (EEO) and participate in associated on-call shift rotations for responding to environmental emergencies such as hazardous materials discharges. This includes being able to respond and travel to discharge (spill) incidents on short notice.
