Job Summary: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Co-Op Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer Technologist will work in conjunction with the Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities teams to support industrial engineering design including plant layout and warehouse design, material and people flow as well as FMEA and HAZOP. Additionally, in direct collaboration with other departments, this position will support the proper execution of projects within the Engineering department, ensuring that the company meets its customer commitments within the approved budget for each project.
Role and Responsibilities: Supports Continuous Improvement in our plant operations Develops an understanding of the equipment and manufacturing processes Uses LEAN principals to develop creative ideas to reduce waste and cost in the process Participates in interdisciplinary task force for equipment installations or to improve plant operations Uses AutoCAD to develop, design, and recommend plant and equipment layouts Supports Researching equipment and vendors for new equipment purchase Supports facility capacity and utilization calculations Utilizes work measurement to determine and recommend correct plant and line productivity requirements and employee staffing levels Uses ergonomic principles to develop and improve tools, equipment, and workstations Work with engineering drawings and documents Works with Engineering drawings and documents to organize the Engineering library Supports and enforces a culture of accountability and meeting commitments Works closely with Project Management to ensure the engineering scope for each project is properly defined; risks are clearly identified and with mitigating actions in place. Writing, updating, reviewing and executing technical documents (SOP’s, Work Instructions, FATs) Participates in the qualification of equipment and processes on site Recommends expectations, provides feedback on industrial engineering design of site Working with process controls and automation (PID loops, switches, commissioning new equipment) Demonstrates company values every day in the workplace
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
College diploma or higher in Industrial Engineering technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a related field Highly organized with a strong attention to detail Strong logical and mechanical aptitude Ability to meet deadlines Knowledge in CAD Knowledge of industrial engineering design Knowledge of FMEA and HAZOP Above average command of office tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Office 365, Project 365 A strong command of the English language.
