Job Description

Raise is hiring a Facilities Technician for Our Client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico. This position is a one (1) year contract located in Airdrie, Alberta. We are actively seeking talented professionals like you to drive these crucial initiatives forward.

Description

Primary role will be to respond to OneCall tickets, locate and mark pipeline and pipeline ROW and managing pipeline crossings with third parties.

Accountabilities

Apply their skills to receive, process and manage all incoming One-Call requests in a manner that complies with the organizations Energy’s policies and procedures and meets all regulatory requirements.

Provide safe, prompt and efficient response to requests and effectively manage time to provide locating services.

Perform routine operating and maintenance duties at facilities; Assist other technicians, as required;

Consult maps, files, prints, GIS (Geographic Facility Information System), and other applicable software to verify work areas & conflict areas

Respond to emergency situations; With minimal direction, utilize and maintain prints; Operate and maintain test equipment; Perform routine pipeline maintenance;

Ensure work tasks and duties comply with HS&E policies, procedures and applicable legislation;

Execute on emergency management (preparedness and response) procedures for work locations;

Perform Other tasks, as required.

Required

Only candidates with previous pipeline experience will be considered.

4 years of experience with knowledge of buried facility locating and One Call processes including CER regulations and industry best practices

An ideal candidate will have a background in line locating:

Ability to comprehend and interpret data received via One Call Tickets

An attitude of responsiveness and excellent call handling and customer service skills

Demonstrated skill in organizing, scheduling and planning work to maximize process efficiencies

Computer experience required – must possess the PC skills and experience to navigate various Windows based software and ERP system

Requires strong communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by successful interactions with others where tact and diplomacy are required

Demonstrate strong ability and knowledge to meet all applicable regulatory and company procedure obligations; continuous focus on incident free operations

Experience working in a fast paced team environment; self-motivated and able to work with little or no direct supervision

Strong decision making and problem solving skills, even in the absence of complete information.

Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record
