The SM Group Director who will have overall responsibility for the financial operations of the group, including finance & accounting, compliance with statutory requirements, corporate governance, risk management and legal of a Group of companies. Position Overview:
As Director of the SM Group, you will have overall responsibility for the financial operations of the business, including finance & accounting, compliance with statutory requirements, corporate governance and risk management. Duties & Responsibilities:
Yourresponsibilitieswill include, but are not limited tothe following:
Management
Support CEO and functional managers to develop clear business plans,prioritiesand forecasts in line with +/- 5% forecast accuracytargets;
Lead a finance team that delivers excellent pro-active service to its stakeholders
Providestrategic financial leadership on issues affecting the business
Recommend and lead efforts to improve ROIC(return on invested capital), working capitaland/orgrowth performance
Finance & Reporting
Accountable foraccurateandtimelymonthly/quarterlyconsolidatedfinancial reporting to ensure compliance of internal and external reporting and requirementsin accordance withIFRS
Responsible for the accuracy of revenue recognition, comfortable operating under IFRS15/ASC606, including being accountable for project accounting and controlling
Monitor and input on key metrics of individual customer contracts
Monitor and enforce Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Ownership ofManage‘Quarterly Strategic Review’ (QSR) process, using extensive Excel modeling,pipelineand costs analysis to prepare a robust forecast
Ensure execution of action points from the QSR review process
Governance & Risk
Apply best practices to processes,peopleand systems to affect revenue,profitabilityand cash-flow, to improve operating efficiency and performance.
Lead and implement introduction of new systems and processes such as new financial systems, expense management and other reporting systems
Responsible for Risk Management process review, effective internal controls, policy standardization and process improvements.
Responsible for intercompany transactions and transfer pricing documentation
Oversee and improve effective administration processes and systems for company records and contracts.
Stay abreast of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.
Legal
Workclosely with all functional leads to ensure projects bids and contract terms, financial and otherwise, adhere to corporate parameters.
Coordinate all legal activities with VP Group Finance
Professional Accounting Designation isrequired(CPA or equivalent)
Minimum6+ years of progressive financial experience
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles,practicesand applications under IFRS
Proventrack recordof progressive financial experience ina leadership role and managing a team
Software industry experience an asset
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
Works collaboratively by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients,users,and stakeholders
Ability to handle a demanding work schedule and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
Experience in an international/globalbusiness, handling multiple stakeholders and currenciesan asset
Strong analytical skills in combination with strategic, action-oriented mindset
Hand-on contributorinall aspects of the finance function
Team player and outstanding ability to work with and through others
Humility,curiosity,and ability to investigate and learn new domains and technologies
Ability to travelinternationally post COVID-19 (up to 25%)
