Position Job Title: Graphic Designer Location: Remote – Full Time Reports To: Sr. Graphic Designer Primary Purpose GUS Medical and Veterinary Schools is looking for a highly creative Graphic Designer who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and digital media. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled at every step of the design process, from concept to the final deliverable. Working as part of the Marketing & Communications team, the Graphic Designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with and speaks to our audience. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.Specific Responsibilities The ideal candidate must be able to maintain brand consistency, introduce fresh ideas, and execute effective digital and traditional marketing campaigns.Work closely with the Senior Graphic Designer to establish project direction.Be able to work as part of a team to help solve creative challenges and present workable options.Ensure brand consistency, act as the brand guardian to ensure effective messaging, and achieve strong brand recognition.Maintain high-quality standards while meeting deadlines and working in a fast-paced environment.Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the following materials: brochures, flyers, pull-up banners, posters, presentation templates, event materials including invitations (print and digital), and other promotional materials.Handle Digital Design - Design landing pages, digital ads, emails, infographics, web banners, social media posts, e-newsletters, and other assets for websites and apps.Manage Print Design - Design for print ads, swag items, packaging, displays, and more.Perform Illustration - Create illustrations and infographics for use in emails, social media, and displays.Assist with photo retouching and color corrections.Update and maintain internal databases of design files and photography.Position RequirementsCompetencies: Solid grasp of design principles, typography, color theory, and visual compositionExcellent eye for detail.Strong prioritization skills and ability to consistently meet deadlines.Can translate complex data or information into easy-to-digest designs, layouts, and infographics.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic work environment.Able to multi-task and work well under pressure.Strong communication and organization skills.Has creative conceptualization ability as well as technical execution capability.Strong collaboration and teamwork skills—the ability to work with many different people across the organization and the confidence and skill to communicate your ideas clearly.Take direction and constructive critiques well while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction when needed.A great, positive attitude and a lack of ego.Has a keen understanding of design based on visual, cultural, and popular trends.Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills in English.Education and Experience: A creative digital portfolio demonstrating outstanding conceptual thinking and design skills.A bachelor's degree or college diploma in visual arts, graphic design, or any commercial arts and communications.A minimum of 2 years of industry experience.A strong stylistic approach and a solid foundation in what makes a good design.Exceptional knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and other graphic design software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office.Experience in creating templates, presentations, videos.Experience with Figma, front end or UX design is an asset.How to Apply?Please submit a resume, including a link to your portfolio with samples of your work demonstrating the above requirements.We greatly appreciate your time and efforts in applying for the position at GUS Medical and Veterinary Schools, however, please note only successful candidates will be contacted.
