Job Summary
Carries out tests as part of laboratory or job studies or in the industry in accordance with the defined test program.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct QA/QC testing on liquid asphalt samples Run the tests according to the standard methods used in the industry Read and follow standardized methods Collect samples Check the calibration of laboratory instruments Maintain equipment and facilities Analyze the results of the samples Ensure compliance with regulations on safety and the environment Perform other related duties as requiredQualifications
Education, Training, Diplomas and Certifications
Students currently enrolled in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Tech program, or any science programs will be considered Strong computer knowledge (Ex: Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) Must possess a valid class 5 driverâs license and current drivers abstract (Must have own vehicle to get to and from work) Work Experience
Work experience in a laboratory environment or school laboratory experience is considered an asset Experience in safety regulation (CSTS, Dangerous goods, etc.)Soft Skills
Candidates must possess a strong work ethic Good communication skills and attention to detail Work independently as well as part of a team Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies Reliability and punctuality is required Ability to follow directions and to respect processes Necessary to stay alert for long periods of time Working Conditions
Use of personal protection equipment is required Must comply with the companyâs drug and alcohol policy Must be able to meet all safety requirement Ability to work with hot/ odorous/ sticky materials and chemicalsDisclaimer
