Agriculture: AZ & DZ Drivers & Applicator Operator (Manual Transmission)
Location: Ayr & Alliston, ONT.
Now hiring for AZ & DZ drivers for an agribusiness that specializes in agronomy and grain marketing.
These are seasonal openings that start April 1st and the contract runs for 10 weeks.
Details: AZ/DZ operator
DZ Driver: $23-$24 and AZ Driver $24-$26 depending experience
Operates all assigned vehicles, single or tandem axle configuration, forklifts, etc. Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. Follows the preventative maintenance program and keeps truck clean to maintain professional appearance. Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products safely on trucks, trailers, or railcars by hand or by forklift truck. Ensures that all deliveries and pickups are made in accordance with time schedules. Complete and submit documentation, bill of lading slips and invoices on time. Completes the necessary paperwork including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basis. Requirements:
Must possess a valid class DZ or AZ license, a driving abstract and CVOR abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability
Possessing experience as a Manual Transmission Operator –
A strong mechanical aptitude with ability to problem solve
Demonstrate ability to read maps, work orders, follow specific delivery directions and instructions
Must have experience driving off-road – this position requires backing into farmers fields.
May be required to work extended hours during peak time, and ok with not working on rain days.
Applicator Operator- Permanent Opportunity
Salary: $30+ depending on experience
Requirements:
Must have DZ License Supervisory experience preferred. Possess or be able to obtain current Ag Exterminator License, and Nutrient Technician License. Valid Drivers License Provide drivers abstract with good history Demonstrate safe driving techniques. Able to read maps, bills of ladings and follow delivery instructions. Demonstrate basic math skills. Able to work independently but also in a team. Understand basic computer skills. Working Conditions:
Mostly outdoors and behind the wheel of a truck.
Physical activity includes operating, loading/unloading equipment, inspecting vehicles and equipment, walking, climbing, occasionally in awkward positions, in an environment which may be characterized by changes in temperature.
Working occasional irregular hours as needed; may include overtime, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and on-call schedule.
Handles hazardous product.
