We are looking for a Director of Business Development with at least 5 years experience in sales and account growth in an agency setting. You have a knack for finding new contacts and building them into valuable relationships. And when the time is right, you have the innate ability to recognize the opportunity, seize the moment and convert this relationship into another satisfied client. When all is said and done, you are able to look back and show your clients the value of working with Intergalactic, leaving them to seek more opportunities to work with us again. You are someone who has deep and varied knowledge of digital production and creative technology in marketing, real estate and the events industry.
In addition to working your magic with potential and existing clients, you have the business acumen and experience to read the landscape and put together a high-return sales strategy. This strategy would include enriching yet attainable targets, and a succinct plan to follow. Once the plan executes, you can identify resources at your disposal to execute the plan, finding extra ways to increase your return along the way.
You have the know-how to admit: You can’t achieve success by yourself. You understand that by involving key team members that you can elevate your hunting-game and increase your opportunity-to-sale conversion rate.

Networking and targeted warm calling
Have a deep understanding of the business landscape and design a high-return sales strategy
Define sales targets that are aggressive, enriching and attainable
Oversee the sales process to attract attention from prospective leads and convert them to clients
Design and evolve a partnership structure to attract new partnerships that lead to new business opportunities
Work with senior team members to identify and resolve pipeline risks
Prepare monthly sales projections, updated and presented on a weekly basis
Manage and cultivate productive relationships with existing clients and address their objectives through incremental business
Research and identify new market opportunities
Prepare and deliver pitch presentations to potential clients
Seek out RFP opportunities and put together compelling responses
Work with Marketing or the leadership team to develop promotional materials and strategies in order to attract additional clients and partner organizations
Foster a collaborative culture within the organization
Leadership Responsibilities
Mentor and manage team members, providing expertise through reviews of presentations, Request-For-Proposal responses and pitch submissions
Delegating work and assignments to team members
Creating and setting direction end goals for the Sales and Account Management team
Guiding the team through sales and outreach issues and challenges
Supporting the team in following best practices regarding Feature-Benefit selling, relationship management and pre-emptive objection handling
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of sales and account growth in an agency and at least 2 years of experience leading a team
Deep knowledge of digital production and creative technology
Experience in enterprise, real estate, and events
Bonus points if you have experience with:
Hubspot
Adobe Illustrator and/or InDesign
This is a full-time permanent position. Base pay $90k - $120k + performance bonus.
We’re a professional yet casual group who work in a hybrid (~50% or 4-5 of 10 days) model from our Yaletown (downtown) office.
