Job description
The Customs Compliance Clerk is primarily responsible for processing B2 refunds/amends/blanket submissions to CBSA, reconciliation and recordkeeping, billing and special projects. He/she would perform these tasks based on understanding of customs rules/legislation, regulations and initiatives gained through working in the Customs Brokerage field.
·Sorting incoming mail, scanning, filingand updating system and internal records with all mail received from CBSA(stamped copies, DASs, Notices,
·Works on B2 processing, packagepreparation and submissions to CBSA (single and blanket)
·Timely system updating and recordkeepingof all Post-entry documentation
·Liaises with CBSA - audits, DAS’s,refunds/amends
·Assists with consulting projects (documentretrieval, spreadsheet data mining, etc.)
·FTA management: Registering, updatingFTA Certificates in system, communicating with clients/vendors & recordkeeping
·Prepares ad hoc reports as required tocomplete ongoing projects
·Provides daily support to co-workerswith customer/operational concerns
·Prepares transactional and monthlybillings
·Timely system updating and recordkeepingof all Post-entry documentation
·Daily and monthly logging and reconciliationof DASs, cheques, SOA, ARL, CARM
·Other duties as required
·Post-SecondaryGraduate (College Diploma or University Degree)
·Minimumof 2-3 years of prior experience in a Customs role with good knowledge ofCustoms rules, regulations, tariffs and post entry corrections (refunds/amends)
·Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)designation from the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) an asset
·Priorexperience with providing strong customer service with a focus on understandingand satisfying customer needs
·Possessesstrong planning and organizational skills
·Abilityto manage stress by being rational, flexible and in self-control
·Abilityto analyze data and information and utilize strategic thinking to develop solutions
·Possessesgood computer skills with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Officeapplications (Excel and Word)
·Experiencedealing with challenging situations in a fast-paced environment
