Overview:

The Country Sales Sourcing Leader will be responsible for maintaining, developing and creating relationships within the assigned geographic area to build and grow the Company’s Citrus business within the assigned geographic area – South America. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leader in the Citrus industry.

Here’s what you’ll do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Define business strategy for each grower and exporter.
• Evaluate the structure and capacity of our competitors and design strategies to defend or attack supply.
• Support the global Citrus’ team for a better understanding of the country and possibilities to come.
• Will be responsible for understanding and developing shipping plans, managing inventory levels and fruit movement across the business to meet the needs of our customers.
• Understanding the dynamics of citrus production cycles, volumes and quality in South Africa and other countries of origin as required.
• This role will have key contributions to the overall planning, programming, and key execution towards the overall book of business.
• This role will be expected to have a heavy collaborative role with team members in the US to align on moving fruit volumes.
• They must have a heavy understanding on the commodities being sold and have a comprehensive understanding of market trends which influence pricing decisions.
• Must have extremely polished negotiation skills and ability to make decisions on the fly.
• Provide real-time support and assistance in addressing grower issues.
• Lead the development of long-term strategic targets.
• Develop and manage grower relationships and update regularly.
• May attend industry events, trade shows and other events as the representative of the Company.
• Provide new market, new product appraisal. Efforts include market research, conducting grower interviews, product preference studies, compiling and summarizing information, and communication of information within the broader Sales team.
• Maintain contacts across the Company to efficiently leverage resource and realize new sales opportunities.

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales and Marketing or related field. Agriculture a Plus. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10+ years procurement or sales experience in produce, perishables or commodity products.
• Bilingual – English/Afrikaans proficiency preferred – verbal and written.
• Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span.
• Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Sales and service systems development and deployment.
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
• Technical skills in administration, strategic planning and sales planning.
