:036 Social ServicesSalary Range:$7,049-$9,165MonthlyGrade:MCP.07.The Ministry of Social Services, Child and Family Services Division, is seeking an energetic, creative and motivated individual to be part of a provincial team that works co-operatively in an evolving environment with First Nations Agencies, the Ministry of Social Services, Indigenous Services Canada and other indigenous communities.The position is responsible for matters involving all aspects of child and family service delivery with First Nations agencies that are providing services to their communities under the current delegation model and may involve the implementation of processes for the transition of Child and Family Services to Indigenous Governing Bodies under the new federal Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Metis Children, Youth and Families.

The successful candidate's major responsibilities will require the ability to:
The knowledge and expertise required for this position is attained through a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian Social Work, or an equivalent Social Work degree from an accredited university as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE and relevant professional experience. The candidate will require several years’ experience working in Child and Family Services, including experience working with a First Nations Child and Family Services agency and expert knowledge of Indigenous issues.
Completion of Structured Decision Making training and extensive experience in using the SDM model of practice would be a benefit for this position.
The successful candidate must be legally eligible to operate a motor vehicle and will be required to travel and work flexible hours in the evenings and potentially weekends.
The ability to speak an Indigenous language would be a definite asset.
