The “Rose City” is seeking a new
City Engineer & Commissioner, Infrastructure Services to oversee the mission-critical infrastructure relied upon by every citizen of the City of Windsor.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Commissioner is a member of Windsor’s Corporate Leadership Team and provides strategic direction for all the human, financial and material resources of the Office of Infrastructure Services & City Engineer. You will oversee a talented team in the design, planning, programming, budgeting, organizing, and maintenance of all engineering, environmental and public works operations throughout the City. You will exercise creativity in leadership and direction that ensures the efficient and effective operation of a diverse array of portfolios that seek to deliver the highest possible quality of services to the residents of the City of Windsor.
As an ideal candidate, you possess a university degree in Engineering with at least ten (10) years of senior management experience and excellent project management, financial, team leadership, public relations and government relations skills. Licensed by, or qualifying for licensure with the Professional Engineers of Ontario, you are highly valued for your strong business acumen, forward thinking and bias to action. You bring a proven ability to leverage technology, drive operational synergies and inspire innovation and continuous improvement in the administration, management and coordination of activity across a diverse array of departments and divisions. You are an outstanding communicator who consistently displays the highest levels of integrity and diplomacy as you build strong and effective values-based relationships with your peers, Council and the public. You are a collaborative and empowering leader, adept at building and motivating teams to deliver excellence while you boldly shape strategies, policies, joint initiatives and partnerships that will best serve the citizens and stakeholders of Windsor.
