YDC in affiliation with Haisla Nation Council have an exciting opportunity for afull-time Chief Executive Officerto join our team inHaisla, BC,with an opportunity for to workhybridafter orientation.Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be primarily responsible for driving the economic growth and sustainability of yáqʷa Development Corporation through strategic leadership and direction.Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Developing and implementing strategic plans to advance economic development goalsBuilding strong relationships with Haisla membership, First Nations communities, and stakeholdersOverseeing financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingLeading operational management and ensuring alignment with organizational goalsSupporting economic empowerment and community development initiativesEnsuring compliance with laws, regulations, and governance standardsIdentifying and mitigating operational, financial, and reputational risksLiaising with Chief and Council, private organizations and government entitiesTo read the full position description, please click here.More About YouTo qualify, you will needa Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field, with5+ years of experience in economic development, business management, or a related field, preferablywithin Indigenous or First Nations contexts, will also be essential.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:A Master's degree in a relevant field (asset)Developed experience in Chief and Council/Government relationsStrong understanding of Indigenous rights, culture, and socio-economic issuesDemonstrated experience in financial management and strategic planningExcellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement abilityDeveloped experience with economic/business development processes such as feasibility studies, cost analyses, etc.Familiarity with Land code or Land useAs our ideal candidate, you will possess strong ethical principles, cultural competence, humility, and a commitment to transparency, integrity, and accountability. These soft skills, along with your ability to work sensitively and respectfully within Indigenous communities, will make you succeed in this role.
