The successful candidate
for this position must have: Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Hold practice permit and full registration with the College of Physical Therapist of British Columbia. Have a broad base of professional experience in Physical Therapy and be confident working with clients in a variety of settings. Have experience working with clients with special needs; familiarity with clients with complex development disabilities will be an asset. Have experience working wit multidisciplinary teams. Have a driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle. It will be considered an asset if applicants have: Experience providing consultative Physical Therapy services for children, school team members, and families. Experience with the recommendation and prescription of mobility equipment and other medical equipment. Experience training and monitoring care-aids, caregivers, and or/education assistants. Experience with assessment and recommendation for safety and accessibility. Experience consulting with interagency professionals for both local and provincial health centres. All SD72 teachers will have a demonstrated understanding and commitment to teaching practice that embodies: an inquiry-based and collaborative approach to the delivery of the BC Curriculum; Social/Emotional Learning and an in-depth knowledge of the BC Mental Health Framework; the incorporation of the First Nations Principles of Learning; diversity, inclusion, and equity; support for the growth and development of individual learners through differentiated learning techniques; and, the ability to work collaboratively with fellow teachers to plan, develop, and implement an extraordinary learning experience for each individual student. Placement on salary scale is subject to verification of experience and certification and will be done in accordance with the current Collective Agreement.
