Responsibilities

  • Will need to become a certified welder, certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau for Qualification W47.1 and W186. 
  • Able to read shop drawings, bending schedules, welding signs and symbols.
  • Safely set-up, operate and maintain welding equipment and machines.
  • Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials and/or containers to be moved.
  • Positions and clamps work pieces together or assembles them in jigs or fixtures. 
  • Fitting of components and weld components together as per drawings. Welds in vertical, horizontal and flat positions. 
  • Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or worksite
  • Inspect the forklift prior to operating, including all fluid groups, update logbook, notify supervisor or maintenance of any problems. 
  • Proper shut down of the forklift must be performed, when cleaning or inspecting.
