Position Overview
The Vice Chair of Clinical/Translational Research is aimed at strengthening research infrastructure and fostering a culture of clinical and translational research within the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The overarching goal is to enhance research productivity while working within the department’s financial constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and address inefficiencies in the administrative and research environment that hinder productivity.Participate in interviewing and hiring research personnel to support clinical research.Develop processes to nurture promising clinician-researchers, including allocating protected research time in collaboration with Vice Chairs and Division Chiefs.Ensure research expectations align with available resources and budget.Advise faculty on managing research programs from clinical, fina...
