Become an integral part of the team at CancerCare Manitoba as a Unit Assistant. In this role, you’ll support both patients and staff while maintaining a clean clinical environment.
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, the Unit Assistant undertakes key supportive functions. Responsibilities include performing routine tasks, and handling cytotoxic and hazardous medications with provided PPE training. You’ll need to possess physical strength for transporting patients and equipment while excelling in communication and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain cleanliness in the clinical work area
• Lift and transport patients and medical samples
• Assist staff with hazardous medication handling
• Use personal protective equipment effectively
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
Requirements:
• Completion of a Health Care Aide Course
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
